Features of eyelash extension glue
When you pick up a bottle of eyelash extension glue , you need to pay attention to the characteristics of this product and know its history. You will discover that behind such an important accessory there is much more than a simple "adhesive". Over the years, different variants of glue have been proposed , divided into 3 main generations. The first generation, considered the most dangerous, is resin-based and causes very strong allergies. It is still on the market so it is best to recognize it and avoid buying it (some Chinese brands produce it). The first generation also includes glues with small percentages of formaldehyde, one of the most common indoor pollutants (found in coatings and insulation).
The effects on the eyes and health of the first eyelash extension glues have led to the birth of a second generation, this time based on rubber powder . This formulation has many advantages, such as greater adhesion. However, there remain numerous negative aspects related to the low stability of the glue and therefore to its duration (no more than 2 months), as well as the preparation time (you need to shake the bottle for 3-5 minutes) and drying time (up to 10 seconds). Products of this type, distributed especially by American companies, are still interesting and have their own loyal following.
The third generation of eyelash extension glues
The best (and last) generation of glues is the third, soot-based. In addition to a truly natural black-gray color, there are a series of rather obvious advantages. It is worth examining them one by one:
- consistency: it does not form lumps or air bubbles and is very ductile;
- polymerization: instant or almost instant (max 3-4 seconds);
- color: black-gray, without shiny plastic effect;
- vaporization: minimal, does not irritate the eyes and has no odor;
- hypoallergenic: suitable even for the most sensitive skin;
- flexibility: deformations and movements do not detach the lashes and do not transmit the unpleasant sensation of “pulling”;
- Glue shelf life: up to 5-8 months, depending on how and where the bottle is stored.
