We have recently made some interesting changes regarding eyelash extension glues and since our goal has always been to have an informed and up-to-date clientele , we thought it would be a good idea to collect all the new features in this article.

We have worked hard to obtain all these characteristics, also for the products of the Light Lashes line, for this reason we have carried out many new projects, including the renewal of our entire line of extension glues. The innovation mainly concerns two aspects:

1. ensure product safety by following the EUROPEAN REGULATIONS IN FORCE

2. better inform the buyer through complete packaging

These two aspects are strictly related to each other so the first question we asked ourselves was:
“How can we make extension glues safer for our clients?”

Surely by notifying the competent authorities. But which ones? How to classify extension glues?

LET'S CLARIFY YOUR IDEAS A LITTLE

Now we ask you, expert lashmakers: In your opinion, can professional glues for eyelash extensions be considered cosmetics?

Absolutely YES, HAIR EXTENSION GLUES ARE COSMETICS FOR THE USE FOR WHICH THEY ARE INTENDED because cosmetic means: 'any substance or mixture intended to be applied to the external surfaces of the human body (epidermis, hair system, nails, lips, etc.) for the purpose of cleaning them, perfuming them, modifying and/or improving their appearance, etc.

Well, then “just” register them at CPNP* (find out more in the final legend)!
YES... PROVIDED THAT ALL THE ANALYSES AND TESTS WHICH GUARANTEE THE SAFETY OF THE PRODUCT HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT FIRST, ALL THE INGREDIENTS PERMITTED AT EUROPEAN LEVEL HAVE BEEN VERIFIED AND THAT THE % OF THEM DO NOT EXCEED THE PERMITTED QUOTA.

IT'S NOT A SIMPLE MATTER but the more complicated things get the more we like them! ;-)

As you know, professional glues are chemically based , in fact they are mainly composed of a substance called cyanoacrylate. For this reason, if we analyze the product only for the composition of the ingredients and not for the use, the glues should also be cataloged as DANGEROUS PREPARATIONS and must be registered on another dedicated portal*.

In order not to bore you further with definitions, incomprehensible acronyms and various paperwork, we conclude by telling you that...

WE ARE THE FIRST ITALIAN COMPANY TO HAVE REGULATED AND REGISTERED EYELASH EXTENSION GLUES ON AS MANY AS 2 PORTALS!!!

IT TOOK "ONLY" 8 YEARS TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF REGISTRATIONS AND REGULARIZATION OF EXTENSION GLUES. It was not easy at all but we are very proud of ourselves!

And this is just the beginning because if with these registrations we guarantee all of you the safety of the products, with point no. 2 we have taken action to better inform the buyer through complete packaging.

What is packaging and what is its purpose:

1. contain the product
2. protect it
3. present it with an original aspect that stimulates curiosity
4. transfer product information from the manufacturer to the user

Now finally comes the most colorful, creative and fun part of the article. Let's see together, an example of the packaging update created for the glues and analyze every single square centimeter ;)

• color that distinguishes the glue box that you already know (e.g. red Bonding glue, green Ultra Super, black 4G...) PS: the glue is always the same, ONLY THE EXTERNAL GRAPHICS HAVE BEEN UPDATED! The formulation is identical, just as you have always liked it!

• brand logo to recognize us at a glance

• name glue
• drying speed ( Fast Drying, Ultra Fast Drying, etc…)
• glue color (clear or black)
• UFI code that identifies the mixture of the dangerous preparation
• barcode
• short product description

• list of ingredients

• icon: 'read the instructions' , indicates that inside the package there is a leaflet with all the warnings or instructions for use as it is not possible to report all the information on the box
• PAO (Period After Opening) indicates the exact number of months the product can be kept once opened.

Now let's analyze the leaflet found inside the package of each Light Lashes glue.

This is also great news!

In addition to the obvious warnings, we have also included a lot of useful information for the professional. We recommend that you read them and keep them in your center because they can always come in handy! Do not throw them away without even opening them!

The aim was to make the leaflet clear and immediate, for this reason we created icons and tables to summarise all the essential information for you lashmakers!

There are 3 different ones:

• liquid consistency (like water),
• medium (like milk)
• compact (like a coffee or cappuccino)

ATTENTION ALL LIGHT LASHES GLUES ARE LIQUID! THERE ARE NO DENSE GLUES! But as all lashmakers know, there are slightly different consistencies that make the product acquire different characteristics.

Furthermore, we wanted to summarize in a table all the characteristics of each individual Light Lashes glue so that you can evaluate them and choose them according to your needs.

According to ART. 13 of the European Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009, when placing a cosmetic product on the market (manufacturing or importing indiscriminately), a series of information must be sent to the European Commission by notifying it to the CPNP.

What is the role of the European Cosmetic Regulation? The European regulation guarantees the safety of cosmetic products at a European level, analyzing each individual ingredient and communicating to the manufacturers or the PR (Responsible Person) whether they are ingredients that can be used in cosmetics or not.

What is CPNP? It is the acronym for Cosmetic Products Notification Portal, a sort of large computer container on which all cosmetics present in the European territory are registered. ACCOMPANIED BY ALL THE DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCT

What is the purpose of registering a product? The notification has two main purposes: to census all cosmetic products present in Europe and to safeguard human health by ensuring a high level of protection.

Who can access CPNP information? All safety data sheets are made available to the competent authorities for market analysis and to the Poison Control Center for Medical Purposes.

The Registration of Dangerous Preparations allows to regulate the chemical sector at European level to protect human health and the environment. It informs the producers or importers about the chemical substances authorized in the European Community and about those that must absolutely be avoided because they are classified as very dangerous.
