Eyelash Extension Competition. How is it done?
Nowadays, eyelash extension competitions are held all over the world, but the first competitions were held in Russia about 10 years ago, which led to their spread throughout Northern Europe, Asia and America.
But what is it: “The eyelash extension competition?”
It is usually organized in a place that is quite large (a warehouse, a hall or at a fair) where many specialists in the field gather. Let's analyze point by point all the figures present.
THE ORGANIZERS:
They are people or companies that have decided to join forces to organize the event. It can be a single person (who is obviously already in the field of extensions) or several companies, schools, academies or product retailers (usually of some well-known brand) that create: a logo for the event, advertising around the event, a suitable environment, invite participants and judges, and draw up the rules.
THE PARTICIPANTS:
are the lashmakers with a certain experience, who compete for the cup. The participants are divided into groups, in each competition we have:
- Juniors (beginners, who have been doing lashes for less than a year)
- Masters (experts, who have been working in the field for more than a year),
- Profy (professionals, more than 3 years)
- or even Winners (winners, those who have already won something previously).
In addition to the official cup, judges and organizers may award participants with special gifts (for example, equipment or products from the camp). All participants are given a certificate of participation.
THE JUDGES:
They are the well-known people in the field, the people who have already had a lot of practice behind them, they are the founders of the schools, inventors of the techniques or the multi-award winners. They are usually called from all over the world to give considerable importance to the competition. They award special prizes to the participants who meet their criteria, in which they find particular additional characteristics.
HOW IT IS DONE:
the competition is divided into several competitions, most often they are:
- natural effect (one by one technique)
- 2D , 3D (double or triple volume)
- Russian volume (exaggerated volume)
- Decorations
For each competition the organizer establishes times and rules. For example: the one-to-one technique is performed in 2 hours, the eyelashes must be correctly applied in the pre-established technique, the material for eyelash extensions used is the participant's responsibility, the necessary tools (table lamp, etc.) are the organizer's responsibility. You must always read the rules before the competition.
The competition starts with a gong and participants are notified every 30 minutes of the progress of the time, and every 5 minutes in the last quarter of an hour, it ends with the closing gong; after which the participant must put aside the tweezers and no longer has the right to continue. The competitors must follow all the pre-established rules in order not to be disqualified.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
In order to compete in the competition, participants must pay the sum established by the organizers. Based on the number of nominations in which they want to participate, paying the money before the competition. Participants usually have the obligation to bring the model, in case the organizers do not already provide for it. Participants reach the city of the competition at their own expense, ditto for the hotel and stay.
THE EVALUATION SHEET:
Based on the pre-established criteria, the judges check each work (application) and enter the evaluation score in a specific sheet.
THE AWARD CEREMONY:
When all the competitions are over, the organizers and judges do the mathematical calculation of the scores to define the winners of each category and competition.
ADVISE:
often the organizing company offers a preparation course a few days before, which is always recommended, precisely because there you can understand what they want to see.
I know that in front of so many rules, so many clauses you could easily get discouraged, but I assure you that it is worth it... the adrenaline, the emotions and above all the prestige of having a cup, which is not only your prestige... It is the prestige of your center, of your school and it will be that which will determine the price of your treatment. What will allow you to say: "I am the winner of the international competition..."
