Summer: +35°… how to beat the heat?
The work of a Lashmaker in the heat can be a little more complicated: here are some tips to work well even in summer.
It is always very difficult to work in summer, due to the high temperatures. Consequently, people always complain that the glue becomes unmanageable , or too liquid or too dense (depending on the humidity, which changes based on the Italian territory in which you live) or that the application does not last long. The ideal conditions for making an application are: humidity 55-65%, and temperature between 18-24C°
How to monitor our work environment:
- Equip yourself with a humidity and temperature detector , because before acting you need to keep them under control to ensure that the treatment is successful;
- air conditioning, usually air conditioners dry the air in the room, but there are some where you can use a program so that it does not dry it. One of these is the Ururu Sarara brand by Daikin http://www.daikin.it/novita-prodotti/nuovo-ururu-sarara/
- or a portable air conditioner that will be useful in regulating the humidity of the environment, it works as a humidifier but also as a dehumidifier. For example: Portable air conditioners Pinguino http://www.delonghi.com/it-it/promo/condizionatori-portatili-pinguino
- a “home-made” remedy: pass a wet rag over the floor after each customer (for those with low humidity)
- you could also use a classic fan , even if it is not very effective, but certainly better than nothing. The important thing is that it is positioned well away from the client's head and the glue.
Remedies while working with glue:
- refresh the jade stone in cold water or in the fridge , before using it. The glue NO, should not be put in the fridge, and in this regard it could be useful to read this other article . It is therefore necessary to change the fresh stone every hour and try to change the drop more often.
- use, if your glue is of a liquid consistency, a larger quantity than usual . Precisely because with excessive heat, it slips a lot from the lashes, and we take very little quantity, so soak twice. If you use compact glue, the quantity remains the usual, but you need to spread it in a more homogeneous way as possible.
- In addition, in summer, it is advisable to change the glue bottle a little more often, on average once a month, month and a half, especially if you work a lot, and if the glue is opened more than 10 times a day.
- Store it in a cool place (cellar, garage, in a cupboard away from sunlight, on a fairly low shelf, where it is cooler).
And of course, you need to create a culture of eyelash extensions, explaining to the client how they should be cleaned (cleaning should be done every day, especially to remove our fat, produced by our sebaceous gland), treated, dried and combed. It should also be explained that the thermoregulation of the glue reaches up to 24-26 degrees, after which the bond cannot remain solid, consequently, with 40° heat, the sea, frequent showers, salt water and wind it is advisable to have your clients come back for a touch-up a week - 10 days earlier than usual. But... who will give up having perfect eyelashes at the beach? Not me!! Even at the cost of doing the touch-up a little more often!
