The Bergamo artisans union supported the first edition of the Lash Champions League 2016 organized by Light Lashes

Under the patronage of the Bergamo Artisans Union, the first eyelash extension championship “ Lash Champions League 2016 ” took place on 4-5 June, organised by Light Lashes at the NH Bergamo hotel.

The event saw the warm participation of numerous Lashmakers from different parts of the world (Hungary, England, France, Holland, Poland, Germany…), divided into categories based on their years of experience in the field.

But let's proceed step by step and see what an eyelash extension treatment is and who the Lashmaker figure is.

Eyelash extension treatment means lengthening natural eyelashes by applying one or more artificial eyelashes to a natural eyelash. The number of false eyelashes varies depending on the technique used. Therefore, for example, with the basic “one by one” technique, a false eyelash will be applied to a natural one, while with the Russian Volume technique, 3 to 6 eyelash extensions can be applied to a natural hair. The person who performs this particular beauty treatment is the Lashmaker, a true professional of the look who is able to give volume and intensity to the eyes of his clients.

So what is an eyelash extension championship?

An eyelash extension championship is a competition between professional Lashmakers who compete with each other by applying eyelash extension treatments on models. Their work is then analyzed and evaluated by expert judges, usually represented by prominent figures in the sector, who assign each participant a score. The evaluation takes into account various criteria, some of which are: the cleanliness of the work, the correct execution of the technique used as well as the overall image, in reference to the shape of the model's face and eyes.

The one that just took place was the first international eyelash extension championship in Italy…
