Lash primer Made in Italy: safety and effectiveness

There are many doubts and uncertainties behind the use of primers to degrease the lashes before treatments, in fact they are among those products that could cause allergies and irritations. Obviously there is a but, so let's see together how to get rid of this fear!

WE HAVE CHOSEN TO PRODUCE IN ITALY

Most eyelash extension brands usually rely on Asian suppliers even for all treatment-related products, including degreasers. Since the basic legislation is different, these countries do not require the same thorough tests to be carried out on the products that are required in Italy - where the very strict European Cosmetic Regulation is in force.

We chose to create a line of primers 100% Made in Italy because it means guaranteeing you:

All these attentions are in favor of the health of the customer and allow the operator to work with maximum serenity. It was not an easy job, but after years of studies we managed to produce in Italy the perfect, safe and effective primer. In the next paragraphs we will see in detail the tests performed.

HOW LIGHT LASHES PRIMERS WORK

The “Aromatherapy Primers” line is composed of three alcoholic solutions and an alcohol-free formulation. All primers have three main characteristics:

1) THE FUNCTIONALITY

They work on natural hair and synthetic hair, collaborating perfectly with the eyelash extension glue. They are stable and gripping formulations that penetrate deep into the hair and allow for maximum adhesion during the treatment.

2) VERSATILITY

They have been designed to work on different types of hair (thick, thin, dehydrated, etc.) and in all seasons , from the most humid climates to boiling temperatures. This line of primers performs several different functions:

• DEGREASER of natural hair: these solutions thoroughly clean the surface scales of the hair (cuticle) and gently lift them , in order to prepare the surface for perfect cohesion. These properties guarantee a solid adhesion of the extensions and consequently a longer duration. The hair prepared with Light Lashes® primers shows a better resistance of the extensions even when they are subjected to occasional treatments with oily or creamy products.

• Glue BOOSTER : Light Lashes primers speed up the drying of the glue regardless of the humidity and temperature of the work environment. You can use this property to your advantage to regulate drying when working in a place with non-ideal temperature and/or humidity. If during work you feel a decrease in the drying speed, just apply a second coat of primer.

• PREPARER of synthetic hair. Try the three alcoholic solutions of the line (Fico Primer, Melograno Primer, Pesca Primer) also on artificial hair! This step eliminates any micro particles of dust and/or any other tiny grain that may have settled on the fiber. In this way you will have an even more solid and uniform extensions.

3) THE AROMA

We have developed 4 different fragrances to give customers a pleasant aromatherapy experience. In short, the eyelash extension treatment becomes a real moment of relaxation! Let's look in detail at the types of fragrances available:

• FIG : sweet and fresh notes. The delicate aroma of fig pulp is mixed with light floral heart notes, especially Rose, which give a soft and enveloping touch.

• PEACH : the favorite of those who love fruity, sweet and velvety scents. It is an overwhelming vortex of summer freshness and vivacity that puts you in a good mood for the whole day.

• POMEGRANATE : an aroma that oscillates between sweet and sour, with those light but persistent notes that create an almost magical scented veil in the environment.

• FANTASY : fantasy fragrance with delicate citrus top notes and a light floral scent of Lily of the Valley and Cyclamen. Elegant and refined, also thanks to the musky and slightly woody base notes that bring the mind to a wonderful flowery forest.

LABORATORY TESTS AND INTERNAL TESTS

Knowing more about the products you use and having all the documentation to support them is reassuring, isn't it?

1. CHALLENGE TEST - or the verification of the product's preservative system.

All the primers in this line passed it with top marks, which means you can use it with complete peace of mind because once opened, no bacteria forms (within the expected PAO period).

2. PATCH TEST - or dermatological evaluation.

Conducted on 20 volunteers. The product is applied to the skin and a dermatologist monitors any reactions that may occur over the next 24 hours. Official reports show that all primers were classified as non-irritating.

3. OCULAR IRRITATION TEST - or the analysis of how much it could irritate the eyes.

Obviously it is not performed on a human eye, because in the case of highly irritating products there would be a risk of permanent damage. The analysis is performed IN VITRO, on synthetic cells identical to those of the human eye. The primers of our line, in case of contact with the eyes have shown a mild irritation. Another good reason to choose them!

4. COMPARE RESULTS

Last but not least, the test you were probably waiting for the most!

We internally tested the effectiveness of these primers, to understand how much their use actually affects the reach of the extensions.

We used the Light Lashes Fico primer as a degreaser on 106 models who had extensions applied, thanks also to the collaboration of our LLAcademy trainers. You can see the results of our experiment in the tables below, where you can find an extract of the statistics.

In the first table, there are the results of the operators who worked with touch-ups (that is: a complete treatment was performed and the client returned for a touch-up after about 23 days). The results show that in this case the client returns with an average of 43 more lashes , so she arrives at the time of the touch-up more satisfied because her extensions have remained fuller.

The second table shows the results of operators who only perform complete treatments (i.e.: a complete treatment was performed and the client returned for the next complete treatment after approximately 32 days). The results show that in this case the client arrives at the appointment with an average of 41 more lashes , which means that you can extend the period between one treatment and the next by approximately 12 days.

It means being able to guarantee your clients a longer hold stable and longer range!

Each lashmaker clearly has their own manual skills and technique, which significantly influence the quality of the work. The results of our experiments are average values ​​of treatments performed by expert operators, but good primers like these can make a difference even in the work of novice lash stylists.
