InLei® Towards New Goals: Vegan Certification

Being Made in Italy was our first step: risky, but at the same time audacious.

As they say, behind every success there are years of hard work and dedication. Today more than ever it is normal to invest not just months, but entire years in the development of what you believe in, facing many challenges and - sometimes - the need to start over. Bringing Made in Italy to the world is an immense source of pride for us, a commitment that we have been carrying forward with passion and determination since 2016, always with our heads held high.

But those who stop are lost and the desire for growth has led us to set new goals, always in line with innovation and the needs of our customers.

So, in 2022 we decided to take on another equally important challenge: obtaining Vegan certification.

What does this mean exactly?

• Finding a strong, stable and reliable partner like Vegan OK is for us
• Review all formulations to ensure they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
• Prepare a detailed dossier for each product, submitting it for approval by the certifying body.
• Finally being able to proudly display the Vegan OK logo on our pencil cases.

Basically 98% of our products are formulated with molecules of synthetic or vegetal origin , but saying "Vegan" and being certified Vegan are two completely different things.

In March 2023, during the launch of our new eyelash lamination line Lash Filler 25.9, in front of almost 150 guests, including representatives, trainers and managers of the various offices of the InLei® brand from all over the world – from Canada to Australia – we had the pleasure of hosting the Managing Director of Vegan OK, Laura Corà.

Thanks to her, we have delved into the complexity of this certification and the great responsibility that a certified company has towards consumers.

As explained by Dr. Corà, Vegan OK offers different types of certification, starting from the controls of the formulation and the production of the packaging, up to certifying even "NO red lights according to the Biodizionario", therefore organic certifications.

In our case, we opted for Vegan OK, which guarantees:

✅ Compliance with European Vegan Standards (WVG)

✅ Total absence of ingredients of animal origin

✅ No animal testing

We currently have a unique control code assigned to our company and are audited by independent certification bodies.

A big step forward, with the same determination that has always guided our brand! 🚀

How to understand if a cosmetic product is really vegan?

The first thing to do is to look at the symbol on the packaging: each icon used is verified and approved by the certifying body.

Before we can place the symbol on the packaging , our company Selita srl ​​must provide detailed documentation on every aspect of the product. The certifying body examines every element, from the glue used to glue the cases, to the production steps and processing conditions of each raw material contained in the formulation.
